Presentation to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - 17 November 2011

The Director was invited to give a presentation to Rural Chartered Surveors in Scotland as part of their aumtun mid-session meeting at Battleby near Perth.  The title for the presentation was: A Perspective on the Uplands: Challenges & Opportunities.  The presentation can be viewed here.


Abbeystead Meeting - Tuesday 27 September 2011

This year's AGM and discussion meeting took place at the Inn at Whitewell, Clitheroe, Lancashire followed by a site visit to Grit Fell to the north of Abbeystead.  A summary of the presentations and site discussions can be viewed here.


Carbon in the Uplands

The Carbon in the Uplands conference report is available in electronic format.  It can be downloaded here


Upland Management: Rights and Wrongs

A Bracken Control event was held on 4th August 2010 in Glenshee, Perthshire followed by a Heather Restoration Workshop  held on 12th November, on Glenlethnot Estate, near Edzell. The final Muirburn workshop was  held on Candacraig Estate in Strathdon on 1st March 2011.  More details can be found here.

Heather Beetle Outbreaks

Heather Beetle outbreaks have been reported throughout the country. If you have experienced one this year, it would be helpful if you could let us know, by filling in and returning the Heather Beetle Survey Form, which can be found in the Heather Beetle section of this website
