Country Market & Sporting Sale
The 2008 Country Market & Sporting Sale is now available to download and the catalogue is being circulated to all on our mailing list. A big thank you is due to all the donors of Lots and to those who have provided donations to support our fundraising efforts.
If you are new to the Sale, we would be delighted to hear from you and to receive your request for a catalogue, which will be sent to you free of charge. Alternatively, please download the catalogue as a PDF document.
The Heather Trust runs this Sale each year, which in the past has been called the Sporting Sale. To reflect the widening scope of the sale we have given it a new title of Country Market & Sporting Sale. Our sporting Lots lead the way but we have increased the number of Lots for the ladies and for other interests.
The income that we generate provides funding for our work that attracts no other payment. This includes our work on committees throughout the UK and our attendance at conferences etc. This work is an essential part of our efforts to promote improved standards of moorland management throughout the UK.
THE SALE CLOSED AT 12 noon
Thank you to everyone who contributed.
You can see how the Lots sold by checking the Bid Monitor below. We may be able to accept Bids on the unsold Lots and will publish further details shortly.
The 2008 Catalogue
The Catalogue can be downloaded by clicking the button.
Colour Photography
The catalogue is printed in black and white, but to give you the benefit of full colour for the more artistic Lots colour photographs are available to download.
Extra Lots
We received some Lots after the catalogue went to print and they can be viewed here.
Bids
Bids can be submitted by any means (in writing, by e-mail, by fax or by phone), but we would ask first time bidders to submit bids in writing. A list of the best bids we received can be downloaded by clicking the button.
The deadline for the receipt of bids is 12 noon on Friday, 2nd May 2008. Successful bidders will be notified as soon as possible after this deadline, but in any case within 2 weeks.
Bid Form
Two types of bid form on this web page. The first is for those who want to download the form, complete it by hand and then submit it by post or fax, the second will allow you to add details and then submit it by e-mail.
If sending your form by fax, please contact us if you do not get an acknowledgement of your Bid; we have had problems with faxes not being received and we would hate to miss your bid.
To submit the e-mail form, please save the completed form onto your computer and then submit it to us as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to info@heathertrust.co.uk
We are able to accept payment through PayPal

Conduct of the Sale
We will be open to receive Bids for each of the Lots as soon as the Catalogue is published. From time to time, we will produce a list to download from this web page that will show the best bids against each Lot. This list will be updated more frequently as the deadline draws close. If recent years are anything to go by, we will be changing the list frequently on the final morning, to respond to the number of bids received. However, do not feel that you have to leave bidding until the last minute!
There are some Terms and Conditions listed at the back of the catalogue, but to get what you want the rules are simple: make a bid that is as far above the guide / reserve price as possible. The highest bid wins!
