An open letter to RSPB
At the end of May, The Heather Trust was made aware of a letter being sent by the RSPB to, we presume, hundreds of its members, calling for them to contact their local MP and tell them how they feel about the issue of grouse shooting.
Much of the content of this letter was misleading and blinkered in its views and, we feel, only served to further entrench polarised opinion on upland management practices.
The Trust prides itself on a holistic approach to moorland management and our ability to bridge divides between often opposing views, so we are concerned at the RSPB’s approach which flies in the face of contemporary, reasoned debate.
A parliamentary debate on driven grouse shooting will be held at Westminster on Monday 30 June at 4.30p.m.
In response, we have issued an open letter to the RSPB. Please click the link for the full letter below.
