From Conversation to Community

The Women’s Upland Network began with a simple but powerful conversation in 2024. Leaders within The Heather Trust recognised the need to better connect, support and celebrate women shaping the UK’s upland landscapes.

What started as an idea quickly grew into a founding group of women from across the upland areas of the UK, bringing experience in hill farming, land management, conservation, rural enterprise and rural leadership.

Today, that conversation has become a growing national network, providing visibility, skills development and peer support for women live in, work on or care about upland landscapes.
